We've been so excited and so thankful to have some great press over the last year. Read about the Crowne Comforteur story in these great publications...The St. Louis Post Dispatch did an interesting story, we even had a few morning television segments with the very enthusiastic Dana Dean on NBC and we even received a national press feature in Forbes!
It was so much fun and exciting to be featured in the media. However, behind all the glitzy press, running the Crowne Comforteur shoe line is hard work. Every little decision counts, from picking the right product manufacturer to finding the right shade of red.
There is a lot that needs to be done beyond creating the actual product designs. Every day I get ready for something new like- packaging, sales meetings, traveling, marketing, filing and accounting! Who would have thought that after a long day designing sketches, I'd be crunching numbers? When you are starting a company from scratch, it's important to acquaint yourself with every aspect of the business, even the dirty work, like rummaging through a dusty warehouse to pack dozens of shoe boxes! Luckily, I do get some help from my wonderful family and friends.
Here are some pictures to show you what we've been up to! From all of us at Crowne Comforteur, thanks for reading!
Here, Joanne Smith founder of Crowne Comforteur, is setting up for a trunk show in Chicago at Click Shoes.
On this trip, in between meetings and trunk shows, we took a break to get some great pics of the city!
Suede or nubuck? Tan or black? Buckle or snap? These are some of the endless decisions we think about every day! Here are a few pics of product development.
